NIM defect? <<<<SOLVED>>>>

yesterday I received the MiniTiounerPro V2 set.
Today I checked the Voltages on the PCB 3,3V and 1,1V. Everything was OK, the current consumption is 32mA.
After put in the NIM the current consumption was going on 500mA. I used a power supply with current limiting which was set by 500mA. The Voltage was breaking down from 12V to 3.2V. This all means the NIM is defect, there is somewhere a short-circuit.
I was looking in the NIM, but nothing is to find.
Now I think I need a new NIM.
Or someone has other suggestions?

Hello,

Try with 700 mA?

When working My MiniTiounerPro ask about 300 mA.
but, just when it starts the MiniTiouner ask more mA. I have already read a post from an another OM that had problem like that using a limited consumption power supply that gave this kind of problem.

But yes, someone has already received a NIM with some solder drops inside, He has opened the NIM, found them, put them away and all was working after that.
Yo can check with an ohm meter if there are some contact between adjacent pins of the NIM

Hello Jean-Pierre,

many thanks for your answer.
With a normal current consumption of almost 300mA, I didn't dare to set the current limit of my voltage source higher than 500mA.
With the current limitation of 700mA suggested by you, the tuners work!
I never thought that the current consumption could be so high for a short time.

Thank you very much and vy 73 de Uwe, DL6NDK
